We’ve all been there—an autocorrect fail, an unexpected noise in a silent room, or that moment when you wave enthusiastically at a stranger who wasn’t waving at you. These awkward moments are part of being human. But in recovery, they can feel amplified. A simple slip-up might trigger self-doubt, shame, or even a setback in progress.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce two new resources designed to help us not only laugh at those moments—but grow from them.

New Taking the Escalator FREE Worksheet: "Awkward!"

This lighthearted, conversation-starting activity is now available to everyone—no membership required.

What it is: A cohesion-building group exercise where participants take turns picking from a list of relatable, silly, or embarrassing life moments and share a story. From “autocorrect disasters” to “karaoke fails,” the list is designed to spark laughter, reduce isolation, and help group members connect through shared experiences.

Why it matters: Humor and connection are powerful tools in recovery. They help build rapport, reduce shame, and remind us that awkwardness doesn’t equal failure—it just means we’re human.
