This is self-awareness and group cohesion-building activity designed to encourage self-expression, connection, and personal sharing. It helps group members get to know one another while opening the door to meaningful reflection and healing through shared experiences.

“Your life is your museum.

Every moment you’ve survived is a piece of art in your unique and powerful story - one you continue to boldly write with courage, strength, and purpose, day by day”

Opening up about your life, even in small ways, can be a powerful step toward healing and positive change. When you share, you not only help others understand you better, but you also give yourself the opportunity to process your own journey, gain insight, and build emotional resilience. Remember, you’re in a safe and supportive space and your story matters.

Directions: Imagine there’s a museum created entirely about you and your life. What would some of the exhibits and artifacts be? Use your imagination! Exhibits can include physical objects, photos, sculptures, paintings, video clips, or audio recordings, whatever helps tell your story.

There’s a grid of topic ideas on the next page. You don’t need to complete all of them — just choose the ones that speak to you.

Examples (Artifact highlighted in italics):

  • My Childhood – A well-worn teddy bear I refused to sleep without for the first six years of my life.

  • Achievements – A framed photo of me receiving my bachelor’s degree, one of the proudest moments of my life.

  • Hobbies – My first drum set, bought after eight months of washing dishes at a local restaurant. The exhibit would include a recording of my first gig at age 16, playing Beatles covers.

Use the grids on the following pages for inspiration. Feel free to add your own ideas and include as much detail as you like.

Be ready to share and discuss your museum exhibits with the group.
